Zebulon Thomas’ life has taken some unusual twists and turns since growing up in Brunswick. So seven months ago, he sat down to write about what he’s learned and his book, “Seven Days of Refining your Life,” is now a reality.
What Thomas has learned didn’t come from academia, however, it came from life experience. With a passion for a career in music, Zebulon dropped out of high school and hit the streets trying to become a hip-hop artist. There were a lot of auditions and promises and disappointments. He was basically out on the streets among gangs and drugs and violence. He could see how dangerous it was.
He decided to change his luck by trying to get into the music business in Miami and left with nothing but a bus ticket and a bookbag. He got there and was homeless. He often slept on the beach where he met some very interesting people including one man who had been wealthy and had lost it all. “He was the happiest person I ever met,” he said, “he told me he loved his life.”
